What is The American Dream Really?

The american dream is crap that's what it is. We have it pounded in our heads that in order to succeed in life we have to go to college to get a job - Yet a lot of college graduates have 30-60k of student loans at least right out of school and their job making 40-50k isn't going to help pay those bills off right away. Then its you need to have a great career, get married, have kids and go up that corporate ladder if you play your cards right.
But really why?
I watched an interesting video that made me think about a lot of things today.
  1. Money Sucks
  2. We are so focused on making that hourly grind that we forget whats more important. TIME - That's right is your 9-5 really worth your time? Are you happy?

I'm sure 95% of you have thought about just saying F*** it I am done and throwing in the towel. I know I sure have. They say do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life. Well, I bet your 5 year old self is inside screaming at your desk job. Did you really want to sit at a desk taking in phone calls all day? Or being a cashier?
NO I am sure you didn't. However we do it to get by and try to survive in this busy world.
What did you want to be when you "grow up"?I wanted to be a country singer. I thought I was amazing but I really sucked at singing. I did love my Patsy Cline songs though.
This American dream has become a living nightmare we aren't able to achieve. We don't have to fit into society's mold any more. Take back your freedom our future is not guaranteed, why not live your best life now? All I am saying is start that business you’ve loathed for, write your book, go on trips, and don’t go into hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt and struggle to pay it off.
Don’t be afraid to question what society tells you to do. You don’t need to rely on the corporation, colleges, or the government to help you, you’ve got this and are capable of whatever your dreams are.

Go make your life amazing and remember you can have your own dreams that you can make them a reality if you work for it. That should be the real american dream. Do what you love.
What's your dream of becoming now? Comment below I'd love to hear about it!Mines doing photography and education / marketing - For now its making sure my kids don't run into traffic but I still can dream right? LOL
